It`s now official, Rapid will play on a lower division after 2 decades with great results in the top tier: 2 titles, 3 runners-up positions and 4 Cups and an UEFA Cup quarter-final. The team had no problems on the pitch, as they will finish the season on a mid-table position (probably on 8th or 9th spot), but they were unable to get the license for the next season and is now confirmed that they will be relegated. This is not the worst scenario for Rapid, which could get bankrupted and start from the 5th division. |

"U" Cluj was one of the most in-form clubs from the league, with a 5W-3D-2L record in the previous 10 rounds ahead of the Iasi game and it seemed that they will have no problems to avoid the drop, but they have been denied the license for the next season and the players accused the shock, being defeated on their home pitch by second from the bottom, Iasi (0-2). Iasi have lost their last home game vs top3 contender, Astra and their only chance to keep alive their hopes to avoid the drop was a victory on the road vs in-form "U" Cluj. The hosts took amends of their opponents` morale problems (they didn`t get the license for the next season) and recorded a huge win (2-0), their first success after a bad run of 6 games without a win (5 defeats). They are still on a relegation spot, but fortunately for them, Chiajna only managed a draw vs CFR, while Ceahlaul have lost against Otelul, which means that a victory vs Medias would see them only 2 points behind salvation. |

Gaz Metan Medias have accomplished their goal for this season, as they will finish the campaign on mid-table (10th or 11th position), so the players are already on vacation mood. There was an obvious loosening on last rounds, as Gaz Metan have won only once in the last 4 rounds (by contrast, they have won 10 points in the previous 4 rounds) and they have been beaten by Otelul on their home ground on last game. |

Atvidaberg won away to Osetr and also home with Djurgarden when they crushed the Stockholm side 5-1!
Thyey lost only with IFK in last 6 games and they are therefor coming here to test strongly the home side!

IFK was named Real Goteborg last year when they signed many quality players. Unfortunately the efforts didn`t payed off and they have been close to relegation on a certain point. Now they are playing some ugly to watch football, but very efficient. They were named as a team that plays wrestling football, but the results are good. Their attackers are very solid and I think they will be better and better in terms of goals scored. |

Kalmar have many injuries on their side, but have replace them with some youngsters and managed to win against AIK 2-1. Was a surprising win. Here will be very hard for them to get something in this match as the inexperience they have will be very visible. Should have been a different match with the likes of Tobias Eriksson, Zlatan Azinovic, Emil Israelsson, Jorgen Skjelvik and Sebastian Andersson in the team. |

Djurgarden got a new coach these days as Per-Mathias Hogmo started to work with the Stockholm side. The assistant coaches Anders Johansson and Martin Sundgren that lead the team in last matches have been named his assistant. He had successes with Tromso and Rosenborg and has also taken Norway’s women to Olympic gold in Sydney 2000.
After a 3-2 win with Malmo at home, Djurgarden are hoping for much more now. They are last palced side and hope to win against Halmstad today! |

Halmstad is a good side, very organized, hard to be defeated, but their offensive problem are now very visible. They have scored just 7 goals and that is the main cause for being 14th. Away from home Halmstad scored 4 goals and conceded 7 in 4 matches. But if we eliminate the 3-3 obtained on the AIK`s field e go for a 1-4 in 3 games which is a very underish characteristic for the away side here. |
