Dragons keen to bounce back

Wrexham will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in quick fashion when they entertain rock-bottom club Bath City at the Racecourse ground on Saturday afternoon. The second placed Welsh outfit suffered a shock defeat at Forest Green Rovers in the week going down 0-1 but should return to winning ways immediately with the visit of poor travelling Bath City. Wrexham’s home form has been outstanding so far, racking up 11 wins which is the highest number of home wins in the BSP. Their home record stands at 11-2-2 30/10, scoring an average of 2 goals per game whilst keeping nine clean sheets so far. They are also searching for their seventh straight home win and with attacking personnel such as striker Jake Speight (12 goals, 5 assists), Mathias Pogba (7 goals, 3 assists) and Andy Morrell (6 goals, 5 assists) they should achieve another three points quite comfortably.

Bath poor away from home

Bath City make the short trip to Wales still in search of their first away win of the season and their record (and Wrexham’s) suggest they will have to wait another week for this to happen. Bath possess the worst away record in the BSP with stats of 0-5-9 11/34, and not only have they scored the least number of away goals in the division, they’re have the third worst defensive record conceding a total of 34 goals. Last outing they got smashed 0-6 at Grimsby Town, and have failed to score on their travels on five occasions whilst conceding 2 goals or more on nine occasions; little wonder they are currently propping up the rest of the league. Most importantly is that they will be without suspended trio centre back Gethin Jones, leading scorer Sean Canham (5 goals, 2 assists) and influential midfielder Lewis Hogg (1 goal, 5 assists) along with injured winger Morley Watkins (4 goals).

Dragons backlash

Wrexham won their previous three encounters against Bath City all by 2-0 margins and I fancy them to inflict a similar result as the poor west country team could suffer a serious backlash. I’ll back The Dragons to cover the -1.5 handicap here.
