Spanish Primera match preview: Real Madrid - Barcelona

Possible starting line up: Casillas, Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Diarra, Khedira, Di Maria, Higuain, Ronaldo. Jose Mourinho is still without injured Ricardo Carvalho, but have Xabi Alonso back from suspension. However, Carvalho absence is not too important as Pepe and Sergio Ramos are doing an excellent job so far. Real have ten consecutive victories in Primera, plus six in UEFA Champions League. It is clear the defense is the crucial factor for such impressive results. And I think they will continue that way even tonight at Santiago Bernabeu against the biggest rival.

Big pressure

Possible starting line up: Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Pique, Abidal, Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Messi, Cesc, Sanchez. Barcelona is under big pressure. They are already 6 points behind Real Madrid (in fact they are 3 points behind, but they have played one match more) and a defeat here will mean they can`t defend the trophy. I know there are lot of games until the end, but I dare to say 9 points will be too much. Coach Pep Guardiola has no major injury woes.

Home advantage could be crucial

I think the home advantage could be crucial here. Last season Barcelona was very superior, but the game in Madrid ended 1:1 (16.04.2011). But now the situation is very different. Real is playing in great form, while Barcelona have many problems. Real Madrid will not risk, Mourinho will be very satisfy even with a draw. So, Barcelona is the team that must attack. And to play too offensive against Real Madrid at Bernabeu, it is too risky. Real have scored 28 goals on 6 home matches, which means an average of 4.66 goals per game. With Cristiano Ronaldo ready, Mourinho can choose from Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain in the attack. Both are in excellent form and whoever starts, I am sure Real will win.
