Is not the same Paraugay

After the last Copa America, coach Gerardo Martino decided to quit the national team. The new coach, Francisco Arce, is having some problems to emulate the good days of Paraguay as one of the strongest teams of South America. His main concern is in the lack of goals in favor: only 1 in two matches. Borussia Dortmund´s striker Lucas Barrios is just recovering from an injury, so he is not in form to solve this problem. In the their last 3 games of Copa America, they Paraguay didn´t score (they reached the finals wining by penalties) and it looks like in this qualifier they´ll have the same problem.

Ecuador with a new atmosphere

After a poor Copa America, Reinaldo Rueda assumed as head coach of Ecuador. In their last qualifier appearance, they beat Venezuela by 2-0, in a correct performance: solid defense, balanced team and acceptable strikers. For this match against Paraguay, they will start with only 1 striker, J.Ayoví. Ecuador will surely try to still 1 point from Paraguay, with this defensive proposition. With this new coach, it seems probable to do so.

Boring match

I think the match will be boring, with few goals. Ecuador will try to defend the draw, meanwhile Paraguay, with their lack of goals, will try desperately to win and reach qualifying positions. But as Lucas Barrios is not in his 100%, it seems that there won´t be many goals to celebrate. Paraguay´s defense is strong, and as Ecuador will try to rescue a point, under 2.5 goals seems a reasonable bet.
