Optimistic ahead of the season

Kalju had a great season in 2011, finishing 2nd in the table, 7 points behind winners Flora. Coach Igor Prins knows how to win the title so I expect Kalju to be more motivated than ever in the upcoming season. Tarmo Neemelo, Kirsten Viikmae, Eino Puri, Alo Barengrub and Sergei Terehhov are quality players and during the break Nomme added another very good players - goalkeeper Vitali Teles from Finnish side Jaro. Forward Tanel Melts was signed from Paide Linameeskond, while Italian Damiano Quinteri was added to increase the depth in the attack. Manucho, Konsa and Rantanen were released as they couldn`t match the expectations.

Decreasing quality

Sillamae lost their regular goalie from 2011 - Michael Kaltenhauser, whose loan period from Skonto expired. Attackers Artjom Dmitrijev (11m, 10g) and Jakub Hejret (13m, 4g) left the team in the break and, as I far as I see, no players have been signed. Still, Sillamae have a very good forward duo Nikulin-Alekseyev. These Russians scored a lot of goals for the team in the previous season, but couldn`t help much in the matches agaisnt the biggest teams in the country.

Value on Nomme

I think we have a "value" on Nomme Kalju here. Nomme won without much problems in the last two games against Sillamae (3:0 and 0:3) and currently possess more quality than their opponents. Sillamae were left by 1 very strong figure and the regular goalie, so I think the Kalev side is a bit weaker in comparison with their level at the end of the last season. This game will be played on neutral venue, but, I will write it again, Nomme are a more quality team, IMO.
