Demba Ba is back

Alan Pardew have done a tremendous job at Newcastle, as his side have exceeded all expectations this season. The Magpies currently sit on 6th place, just one point behind Arsenal and with a game in hand, their best performance at this stage of the season since 2002-03. They are one of the most in-form sides from the league, as they have won four of their last six league matches (only Tottenham and Sunderland have earned more points since Christmas Day). Furthermore, leading scorer Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Cisse have returned from African Cup of Nations and should start.

Better on the road

Villa are 11 points further back, on 13th place, however, they are a tricky opponent, as they have been better away than at home this season. McLeish`s lads are currently unbeaten in five league games on the road, winning the last two, including a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, they have proved their strong character with the league-high 11 points recovered from losing positions this season.

Goals

Despite the hosts better position in the rankings, I won`t risk a bet on the 1x2 outcome, but instead, go for the goals. Both sides are on great form and both clubs boasts great firepower, with the likes of Demba Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa, respectively Bent, Robbie Keane, N`Zogbia or Agbonlahor.
