In bad situation

Monaco is in very bad situation. They are on the last place in League 2, four points behing the safe zone. Monaco is a team with great tradition and it is a shame they find in situation like this. The fans are disappointed and it will be a catastrophe if Monaco relegate in third division. For this match Monaco have some injured players. Sebastien Chabbert and Nampalys Mendy are definitely out, while some more players are rated as doubtful - Stephane Dumont, Marama Vahirua, Rabiu Afolabi, Tristan Dingome, Thorstein Helstad and Kevin Malcuit. Some positive sign could be the last round result as Monaco played 2:2 at Le Havre.

On the top

Clermont is on the top of the table after 17 matches. I am not sure if it is a surprise or not, but Clermont deserved that. They have 33 points and they have 10 victories so far, more then any other team in the league. But Clermont lost 1:2 from Boulogne in the previous round and that could be a small problem for the players confidence. For this match Clermont will be missing suspended Medhi Namli, while Cedric Lubasa is injured. But the good news is that Cedric Bockhorni and Cedric Avinel are back from suspension.

Both teams need the victory

Both teams need the victory from different reasons. This is "do or die" match for Monaco, they must win or their situation will be more complicated. On other side Clermont is the best team and they will surely try to win, even they are guests. After all Clermont is the best guest in the league with 6 victories from 9 games. That is why I am expecting an open approach from both sides. Both teams played Over 2.5 in the last round, so I think they will continue that way. Even more as 6 of the last 8 Monaco matches ended with Over 2.5 goals.
