Champions League dreams

Heerenveen are having a good season, they are just seven points away from league leaders and the way they are playing, seeing them in Champions League qualifications wouldn’t be a surprise. In addition, their rivals are having some troubles lately. They are now fifth with same amount of points as Ajax and will surely be looking to get above them after their match vs. Roda on Friday. They have finished first part of the season with a painful 5-1 defeat at home against league leaders PSV, but in the second part everything went as expected, as they have won two times 2-0, against De Graafschap away and Utrecht at home. They have plenty of attacking potential and will surely attack from the first minute.

Great form

Unlike Heerenveen, Roda are having an average season, and their table position reflects that well. They are right at the middle of the table and although they are quite safe there, looking at their current form, they will surely aim towards a Euro place. They had some great results lately, 7-0 at home agains Excelsior, then away draw against solid Den Haag, but what surprised everyone was latest victory at home against AZ Alkmaar, 2-0. On Friday, they will try to improve the very bad score away from home. They won only two games and have conceded 26 goals, which is third worst defensive score of the league. But everyone in the club hopes that attacking department will have a better day then their defensive colleagues.

Open game and lot of goals

That is the only reasonable outcome when these two sides meet. Quality is on the side of the hosts, but the form and recent results are putting Roda a bit ahead. One thing is sure here, these are two sides that are always playing attractive and attacking football. There are plenty of players that are capable of scoring and I will go for goals here. The odds for over 2.5 are not really the best so I will go for over 3.
