Big class difference

One of the hosts of the tournament, Equatorial Guinea, started in great way, winning 1:0 against Libya in the opening game. But even with this win, if we compared them to Senegal, Equatorial Guinea is just way above the level of their opponent today. Most of the team is playing in second and third Spanish division, which just shows that the potential of the hosts is not so big.

Need a win badly

Senegal is one of the best teams in this competition without any question. The team however started with a defeat against Zambia (1:2), so today against Equatorial Guinea they have no other alternative than to take the three points and to get back in the game for the first place in the group. Senegal must fight for this first place, because if they finish second, most probably they will meet Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals, which will be very bad news for them. Senegal have great attacking players like Moussa Sow, Mamadou Niang, Demba Ba and Papis Demba Cissé, so with such an attack they will surely make it very difficult for the home team today.

Senegal were one of the favorites at least for a place in the final this year, but after the bad result their situation now is really bad. However, they have the players needed to get back in the fight for the top spot. Before the defeat against Zambia, Senegal had five wins in a row (three in friendlies and two in the Africa cup of nations qualifications).
