Big chance

Czech Republic made one of the greatest surprises in the first round. They managed to beat Germany with 27:24. All the players gave the maximum on that match, but still, one player must be named here - Jicha scored 7 goals. But the Czech Republic is not only Jicha. There are some other good players like Filip, Horak, Juricek, Sklenak, Stehlik and others. In the second round Czech Republic was defeated 29:33 from Sweden. Once again Jicha was the best scorer with 7 goals. Now they must get a positive result against Macedonia (victory or at least draw) to qualify for the second stage.

Like at home

Macedonia play on this European championship like at home. The city of Nis is close to Macedonia and many fans travel to Serbia to support the players. The results are not as they were expected, but don`t forget Sweden and Germany are top teams in Europe. Still, Macedonia managed to play 26:26 with Sweden and lost 23:24 from Germany. Many things depends on Kire Lazarov, the Macedonian best player. He wasn`t perfect on the first two matches and that`s the reason why Macedonia didn`t win. Lazarov scored 7 goals against Sweden and 7 goals against Germany, but his percentage was bad. At this point I have to mention the young Stoilov as a positive surprise in Macedonian national team.

I expect Macedonia to win

I expect Macedonia to win. Both teams are surely very tired after the first two games. But Macedonian players will be boosted by the fans. It is expected some 4.000 fans to make a great atmosphere in "Cair" and we can`t underestimate that fact. Next, many things will depend from the key players - Jicha in Czech Republic and Lazarov in Macedonia. And I believe it is a perfect time for Lazarov to explode. He is very motivated here. Together with Stoilov, Naumce Mojsovski and Alushovski I expect him to lead Macedonia to Belgrade.
