England League Two match preview: Crawley Town - Cheltenham Town

Red Devils could go top

Fourth placed Crawley Town entertain League Two leaders Cheltenham Town in a top-four clash at Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday night. Crawley could go level on points with their visitors tonight if they win and they’ve lost just once in their last nine league matches at home. The Red Devils’ home record stands at 10-1-2 29/11, and they are the highest goalscorers at home in the division. Despite losing joint top-scorer Matty Tubbs (12 goals) to Bournemouth, they still possess striker Tyrone Barnett (12 goals, 5 assists) up front along with new forwards signings Billy Clarke from Blackpool and Karl Hawley on loan from Notts County. Crawley have also failed to score at home just once so far this season.

Cheltenham fully-fit

Visitors Cheltenham Town travel to Sussex looking to record back-to-back away wins following their success at Macclesfield Town 3-1 last weekend. They remain just two points ahead at the top of League Two and I’ve no doubt they would want to extend that lead here tonight. The Robins’ away record stands at a solid 8-2-3 23/16 and are unbeaten on the road in their last eight matches. In addition, they’ve failed to score just twice in all of their away matches so far and manager Mark Yates has a fully-fit squad to choose from. This means that they have a full complement of their strike force at their disposal tonight which consists of Kaid Mohamed and James Spencer (6 goals apiece), Darryl Duffy (7 goals) and Jeff Goulding (5 goals) along with creative midfielders Marlon Pack (6 assists) and Luke Garbutt (5 assists) providing the ammunition.

Strike-force showdown

Both teams possess decent firepower and will be looking for all three points tonight; therefore I’m backing both teams to score in what should be a lively encounter.
