A lot of work needed for playoffs

Cavaliers are 8-13 in the season which puts them just one place behind 8th place on the east which guarantees them playoff run. They didn`t taste playoffs since the infamous departure of Lebron James. This season they have a chance to go through but it will be tough since there are 4 teams including Cavs (8-13) that have similar scores: New York 8-15, New Jersey 8-16, Toronto 8-16. Cavs are heavily dependent on rookie Irving and veteran Jamison. Like all rookies, Irving will have a season full of ups and downs and that could be a huge problem because consistency is what counts in the NBA. In last 10 games Cavs lost 7 but that wasn`t so bad since they played against tough opponents like Boston, Orlando and Miami. To summarise, they are not in a good form, but still a team not to be underestimated, especially if Irving plays well.

2011 Champs are taking sixth place on the west with 6-4 win/loss ratio in last 10 games and 14-10 overall. Obviously, this will hardly be a season in which they will reach NBA finals but then again, they didn`t look to win championship during regular season last year also. The good news is: Nowitzki is finally back. Physically he was there, but his game wasn`t. Luckily, last few games he is back on track, with last game especially pleasing: 30 points and 12 of 17 shooting. Other good news before Cavs games are Cavaliers injury problems. Parker, Gibson, Thompson are all doubtful which is a huge blow. Dallas should be starting playing more consistent, I`m sure Dirk will help them in that regard. There are still a lot of games to be played and a lot of possibilities to acquire better table position before playoffs.
