First competitive game in 2012

The Russian Premier-Liga will resume only on 3 March, so this means that this is the fist competitive game for the hosts after the winter break. They have played their last competitive game on 7 December, when they defeated Inter at Meazza (2-1). They have played 6 friendlies in the training camp, most recently last Thursday when they drew with Shakhtar Donetsk (2-2). Tomáš Necid has recovered from torn knee ligaments, but Igor Akinfeev (torn knee ligaments, out since 28 August) and Mark González (hip, 30 April) remain sidelined, while Keisuke Honda has returned to training after a knee injury, but is not ready for this game. Striker Vagner Love have moved to Brazil, while Ahmed Musa have been brought to replace him.

On fire

The visitors are passing a great patch of form lately, as they have won 27 of their last 30 games in all competitions, finding the net in every match in the process. They have put 10 points behind them and arch rivals Barcelona in Primera, so Mourinho`s lads can now focus on Champions League, with the title almost secured. They have trashed Santander on weekend (4-0), their fourth home win in a row in which they score at least 3 goals. Ángel Di María (muscle bruising), Lassana Diarra (back) and Hamit Altıntop (torn calf) are all sidelined.

Real by one goal

Real is huge favorite to advance and also to win in Moscow, however, I don`t expect this to be a walk in the park for Mourinho`s side. The artificial pitch and also temperatures of -10C will be a big ally for the hosts, while Mourinho have also praised CSKA`s defensive line, who he well knows form the 2009/10 quarter-finals with Inter (1-0 on both games).
