Host nation and pleasant surprise

Brazil is host of this championship and so far unbeaten team. They are pleasant surprise since are not among top world handball teams and no one was considering them able to go far or fight for medals. But they show quality and their main power is team spirit and home crowd. But I think they had easy group with weak Cuba, average Japan and Tunisia and totally out of form Romania. Only strong opponent was France and Brazil played very strange game with them since were down 10:17 at half time and at the end won with 26:22. Only 5 second half goals from France is something that probably will never happened again.

Third best African team

Ivory Coast is weakest from African teams here since Tunisia and especially Angola are stronger teams. They are average team which is better then group of Australia , Uruguay, Argentina or Cuba and they show that by beating both South American teams in their group. Their third game with South American team will definitely be lost but I think they are able to show some resistance and fight to hosts. They handle the ball better and have two quality players in Mambo and Gondo which can score some goals.

Ivory Coast to cover big handicap

In this game pressure will be on Brazil since are hosts and big favorite. Ivory coast achieved what they wanted and now can play relaxed and are able to give fight. All African teams show good handball on this tournament, with Angola already in ¼ finals, while Tunisia didn’t advanced but didn’t disappoint with some wins and close losses. Ivory Coast also has two wins and close game with Sweden and bigger losses were from strong European teams, Denmark and Croatia. With Brazil have met once before also on World championship in 2005 and they lost just 26:34. I expect similar result today since Ivory Coast looks better now, but also Brazil with their home advantage. If we include pressure on home side and 6 goals bigger handicap I think there is value in this bet.
