Wonderful season

Marcelo Bielsa once more proved that he`s incredible coach. He took the job as head coach in Athletic Bilbao in July 2011 and for just two or three months he made the team look like a winner. Bilbao is currently on fourth position in Primera (Champions League place), they are in the final for Copa del Rey (will play against Barcelona) and are in the elimination round for the Europa League. In the first game the team lost against Loko Moskva (1:2), but at this temperatures this result doesn`t look bad at all. Now the Russians will come to Spain and will play at "San Mames", where Bilbao is playing tremendous football. The team have eight wins from their last ten home games in all competitions (8-2-0). In the weekend the team trashed Malaga with 3:0, but Bielsa also rested some players for this important game against Lokomotiv on Thursday. Llorente played just 45 minutes, Javi Martinez was suspended, so he didn`t play at all, Amorebieta also played just one half, Ander Herrera played 70 minutes. Also Igor Gabilondo (11/0) has recovered from his injury and he even was on the bench in the last game. So Igor Martinez (2/0) and Carlos Gurpegui (7/0) remains the only two absences for the team.

Only their second official game for 2012

Lokomotiv Moskva made a great comeback in the first game against Bilbao at "Luzhniki", but on Thursday the game at "San Mames" will be really different and I don`t think that the visitors have any chances. This will be just the second official game for Lokomotiv for 2012 and this will for sure make some influence on the game. The players are maybe not still 100% ready for games at such high level and the performances of the other Russian teams in Europe last week showed that.

Bilbao too good for the visitors

Bilbao is on a great run, especially in the game, played at "San Mames". Marcelo Bielsa is a winner, so he`ll for sure make everything he can to win this game and to see his team in the next round of the competitions. Also the Spanish teams have always played really serious in this tournament. Bilbao scored at least three goals in five of their last six games at "San Mames", so I can easily see a big win for the home team on Thursday, against a team, that is still not 100% ready for big games.
