TamU has started the season poorly. I expected them to be a top 6 team, a bit better than their opponent Inter today. Instead they are 11 with only 4 games won of 11. All these are won at home court. Their home record is one of the best in league 4-0-2 and they have won last 3 home games. I dare say TamU is better than what the statistics show. TamU creates average amount of scoring chances, being fifth in the league with 11 shots per game. TamU has had big problems converting these chances to goals. Strikers Niemi, Kangaskolkka and Hjelm have not lived up to expectations. In this game Niemi is injured. Hjelm form seems to look up, since he scored his first goal last game against Lahti. Hopefully this is the boost he needs to get things going. Both Hjelm and Kangaskolkka are young players with lots of capabilities and when they get their game on track, will be hard to stop. Another problem for TamU has been injury of goalkeeper Kaven. Soukiala has played quite well, but Kaven is more a leader than Soukiala so I expect a boost from Kaven if he returns to this game. Coach A. Hjelm said in an interview that he is expecting Kaven back in this or weekends game. TamU is also missing Pohja from midfield. Pohja is important player for TamU, since he has wide range of abilities on field. It is said that Pohja had a slight attitude problem, because chances in TamU organization and that his form has been a bit of, so this could be a good thing for TamU that he is out a couple games. He is probably replaced by James (New Zeeland international), who is coming out of injury. He played already few minutes in last game. Other injured players are Järvinen, Lappalainen, Pirinen and Petrescu. These have been injured for a while so they won’t affect last games starting 11.
Last game Inter played at Helsinki against HJK. They lost 2-0 and their Goalkeeper Bantamoi was sent off with direct red card. So Inter goal will be guarded by Canadian Monsalve who is yet to prove his level. This is definitely a big minus for Inter since Bantamoi is among top 3 goalkeepers in the league. Another important missing player is Ojala. He has minor injury, but likely will not play. Both these players are among best players in Inter. Otherwise Inter squad seems fine. Inter has played against tough opponents in last rounds losing to HJK, Haka and VPS and winning Honka at home. Away Inter has only managed to win KuPS and RoPS which are worst teams in the league. Inter has played the season as expected and is currently on seventh place. Inter typically holds on to the ball a lot. I can’t see this strategy working against TamU since TamU has strong midfield and skilled wingers. With Bantamoi out Inter is definitely weaker than TamU.
The set-up in this game is quite even. Neither team is in good form. Inter is looking for their form since they’ll be starting Champions league qualifications shortly. TamU needs points to get where they belong in the tables. At the moment odds on TamU win are still good, but they are dropping and will drop too much, because market will overreact to Bantamoi suspension. Nordicbet still offers 2.8 on TamU straight win and that is worth taking. Also AH (0:0) with over 1.85 odds is good value. If the odds drop to around 2.3-2.5 you should be more cautious with stakes.
