RoPS has interesting team at the moment. It’s not very good, but there is potential in their players. I’ve done a couple previews on RoPS before, where I’ve criticized RoPS teamwork and communication as well as players. I still think it has been justified. RoPS has gone into every match as under dog so far, but in this game with their home advantage, I think they are clear favorites. Reports from last two RoPS games tell that RoPS performance was clearly better than beginning of the season. Opponents in these games (Honka and TPS) were really good and RoPS lost both games. RoPS took the lead in both these games, but let it slip both times. Especially last game against Honka was good. Honka equalized at 86 min and took the lead on over time. This shouldn’t have happened and I think lack of experience from similar situations is main reason why it did happen. Maybe next time they can play for whole 90 minutes. I’m not quite sure about this, but I think RoPS defence (Korean GK, Finnish and Sambian center backs) has big problems with communication and this gives up so many goals to opponents. These problems escalade when opponent puts lot’s of pressure on them when in desperate need of goals, like Honka last game. RoPS will get their injured side back Turpeenniemi back to this game. Injury list is short for RoPS, only long time injured Tenkula is out for sure. RoPS offence and midfield is otherwise fit, even Mweetwa is close to 90 min form.
JJK’s start to this season has been expected. They are on 12th place with one win and four draws. Their defence has been really bad allowing 15 goals in last 6 games. Their opponents have had 37 shots on goal in these games, so very efficient finishing from opponents or a lot of really good scoring chances allowed by JJK. Based on last game, I think the latter option is more accurate. JJK has so far played 4 games away with 0-1-3 record. Even though JJK statistics look bad, they have managed to score in 5 of their last 6 games and they create lot’s of scoring chances according to reports. This suggests that the biggest problems are in defence. JJK defensive line will probably be Latikka-Sinisalo-Paija-Viren. These players aren’t good enough to stop Veikkausliiga attackers. In attack Kari seems to have found his aim with 4 goals scored in last 5 games. Also winger Nam has been good on field and will hard to defend. JJK is missing Koskela in this game due to suspension. He has played in 10 matches on this season and is important part of JJK midfield. This is not a really big problem for JJK since Koskela has not performed up to expected level this season. Lähitie is also probably suspended. There is mixed information about his suspension so it’s not yet sure whether he will play.
This game is so called six point game for the teams. Both are fighting against relegation and lose here is not an option for either team. JJK might settle for a point, but they desperately need points since they already lost 3 points to another relegation candidate KuPS. With two poor defences I believe this will be open game. JJK has shown that they will fight till the end. I evaluate probability of 3 goals or more to be over 50 %. I believe that this is better bet than RoPS win, since RoPS will have hard time they have as bad night as in Vaasa 4 rounds ago or in Tampere 3 rounds ago.
