Fabio Fognini used to be a very talented player but the time has passed by and he hasn`t been showing too much improvement, and lost to many weak players over the seasons, rarely recording a big result. He was usually very impotent on the court, and whoever watched his game will know this guy is playing some really soft and weak tennis, forcing backhand a lot, with a very poor serve usually so his 57th spot in the world is actually an overachievement for his standards as I believe he doesn`t deserve it cause he is mostly relying on opponent`s mistakes rather than on his winners and direct points. He hasn`t played for a few weeks before coming to Monte Carlo, where he was easily disposed in the first round to Llodra, who is in a bad shape at the moment, which of course didn`t prevent him from crushing the Italian with no problem. Fognini has rarely passed the first round in his tournies this season and before Monte Carlo, he hasn`t played on clay this year, while he only managed to defeat Olivier Rochus out of all top 100 players he faced in his matches. online betting

Schwank should be a slight favorite

Although Fognini claims he can play equally well on all surfaces, I would say that two typical clay-courters will meet here.
