No signs of improvement

After 2 rounds of the second part of the campaign past already, I could say that Rapid didn`t showed any signs of improvement since autumn. They were held to a draw at Bistrita, after striker Parks missed some huge chances, and won last round at home against Iasi, after a 95th minute goal. Their main problem is coach Sabau and their incapability in finding a good playmaker. Striekr Bucur left the club in the winter, and his presence is sorely missed, as their main tactic was to kick the ball over the opponents`s defensive line, while speedy Bucur was doing the killer job after. Now, they just lack such a player. From the positives, the return of Cosmin Contra was a big boost for the team, him being an experienced player and a true leader, also marking his re-debut with a nice goal. I strongly believe the visitors will have the edge here. They will probably start with two experienced defensive midfielders who will surely overcome Rapid`s improvised midfield. Rapid`s squad problems are very deep and given the fact 3 new players might make their debut tomorrow, we can`t really discuss about cohesion in their game play. Timisoara won their last 2 games from Giulesti and it wouldn`t be surprising to manage the third.
