Defending the title

Rafael Nadal is planning to get back to the throne this year and attempt to retake the first spot in the rankings from Roger Federer, and in order to do that he already clearly improved his form compared to the last season, lost some weight in order to lose pressure on his knees, and is looking very confident. Nadal shouldn`t have any problems

In my opinion, this is going to be a totally one-sided affair. Berdych is just that kind of a player who often chokes against top players, and has got no guts to play brave and offensive tennis when facing better players than him. Yes, he might be able to beat a few overachievers here and there, primarily if his serve is clicking, but right now he simply isn`t at Rafa`s level in terms of quality and will probably never be. Nadal sees this match as just yet another step towards the title, after Djokovic and Federer are out I`m sure he will try very hard to save as much energy as possible for the potential clashes with the remaining favorites and will thus dispose Berdych with his great baseline game, returns and using his terrific fighting spirit, which is something Berdych never even had. The H2H is 6-3 in favor of Rafa, but the last 5 encounters (once Rafa got more mature) were won by the Spaniard, a few of the last ones in straight sets, and I don`t think it will be any different this time as well.
